Weather Doppler Radar Processing

Weather prediction and  estimation is a study that has proven to be very useful for human beings. A Doppler  radar is one that makes use of the Doppler effect in order to come  up with velocity information  about objects at a distance. This slight change in figures gives one very precise and direct  measurements of the radial factors of a target's speed  in relation to the radar. The weather surveillance radar or the  weather radar is used to identify the precipitation, to calculate the motion,  estimate the type of precipitation and to forecast the intensity and future  happenings of it. Sankya uses a software that functions on pulse-Doppler radar  which has the capacity to detect the droplets of rain and its motion besides  the intensity of the precipitation.  This  can be used to determine storms and other potentially severe weather conditions  and avoid damages.

Sankya’s software uses weather radar  and makes it send pulses in certain direction. These are of microwave radiation  and use a cavity magnetron or klystron tube which is in turn connected to an  antenna. Part of the energy from these pulses will be found bouncing off the  ice particles and droplets that it detects back to the radar station, thereby  determining its size and intensity. As the radar pulses spread out as they  travel away from the radar station, the area of air of the given pulse is  larger for areas far away from the station than those nearby.

Using these effects the software can  effectively use the Doppler Effect to determine the weather parameters.
